The beans are so smooth and rich we love it. The best beans 🫘
puqpress works extremely well, giving a level & consistent tamp. it doesn't take up any extra counter space because it sits directly under the grinder. it allows you to adjust the pressure (the range is slightly different for the different tamping modes), which allows you to explore tamping pressure as an espresso variable. but there's a larger reason i got this... most of our fancy espresso equipment is designed for efficiency on bar: saving time and money. a puqpress will save at least one barista on each bar from wrist problems. most baristas i've known that have hand tamped for multiple years have ended up with issues. so puqpress is also an investment in long-term baristas.
Great machine, works perfect for at home or small coffee cart, very easy set up and use, pulls the perfect espresso shots
It is a very difficult grinder to set up because it uses a built-in scale to measure the weight, which makes it quite complicated and not very stable. To position the portafilter, you have to tighten it with an Allen key, and that does not work very well. Overall, I would not recommend it.
I've been an advocate of the Mythos Clima Pro as best espresso grinder for about 8 years. I was reluctant to get into the new Mythos line because how do you improve on perfection? But I took the chance and was pleased that it's still operates with all my favorite functions: the super smooth and easy grind dial, the clump free exit shoot, the small counter top footprint, and the ease of getting a very small amount of coffee to top off your dose. But the new features are quite nice as well, such as the gravimetric dosing. All in all, I feel like I'm using the exact same grinder with a few improvements.
