Eureka Zenith 65E

As the name implies, there is much about the Zenith 65e that puts it near the top of the grinder industry. This is clearly a grinder designed to meet the high demands of a coffee shop or restaurant handily.

Important Features and Why They Matter

Stepless Grind Adjustment

With any prospective grinder, you should be asking how dialing in the grind works. There are two main methods of adjusting fineness on a grinder: stepped or stepless systems.

The Zenith 65E is a stepless grinder, which is the preference for experienced baristas. That’s because it gives you essentially unlimited fineness options.

How does it work? The easiest way to understand is comparing it to a stepped grinder, which is a grinder that has a range of premade fineness settings to select. As you turn the fineness dial, it will click into place at any of these settings.

Stepless grinders like the Zenith 65E remove those settings or “steps.” Instead of clicking into place, you can turn the adjustment dial to literally any point, making adjustments as small and precise as necessary.

Flat Steel Burrs

Burrs are also a key component in any grinder. Any grinder guide should take a look at a grinder’s burrs at least once.

The Eureka Zenith 65E has flat steel burrs. We’ll examine a few of their noteworthy qualities here.

First, there’s the size of the burrs, which is 65mm. As far as size goes, these are at the larger end of the spectrum, which means the grinder can go fairly quickly and remain cooler. Larger burrs simply don’t need to turn as much to grind greater amounts of beans, so they don’t overheat from friction.

Second, their shape is worth consideration. Flat burrs are beloved for their consistency. They grind coffee beans into perfectly homogenous particles, leading to a richer, well-rounded flavor during extraction.

Finally, let’s take a look at the material. These burrs are made from steel, which is pretty popular in commercial grinders. The reason for the popularity of steel burrs is obvious: they’re tough. These are not easily broken burrs.

LCD Display

Most baristas would say that they find a grinder more appealing if it has a well-designed display. The good news is that the Zenith 65E does.

Because it has a clear LCD display, users are able to easily see the settings as they make changes. This can help prevent mistakes that might otherwise occur on small or hard-to-read screens.

On-Demand Grinding

The Zenith 65E is what’s called a doserless grinder. Doserless grinders are sometimes referred to as “on-demand grinders” for one simple reason: they grind on-demand.

In other words, the 65E will grind all servings of coffee and espresso to-order rather than in advance. As a result, each dose of coffee is as fresh, potent, and aromatic as can be.

Programmable Dosing Options

Measuring out accurate doses of coffee or espresso is crucial. You don’t want too much, otherwise you’ll end up wasting it as you throw it away. Of course, you also don’t want too little, or you’ll have a beverage that tastes weak.

Memorizing the correct amounts for each brewing method can be a hassle, though. Grinders like the Zenith 65E make this process simple through their programmability.

Basically, the 65E will allow you to save the timing for single or double doses of espresso into its buttons. When you need a single or double shot, then, all you will have to do is press the correct button and wait.

Adjustable Spout

Most experts would recommend grinding right into your portafilter if you’re preparing a shot of espresso. This helps you pack the basket evenly, leading to a balanced extraction.

Beverages come in multiple sizes, though, and to accommodate those sizes, portafilters can also vary in size and shape. This is exactly why the Zenith 65E has an adjustable spout.

Because you can alter the angle of the spout, you can ensure that the grinder is able to dispense grounds into the center of your basket every time, regardless of its size.

Different Configurations

A great purchase every decade

My fourth Stradivari purchase — a great machine, not a lifetime investment. Makes a great espresso, steams a fine latte, looks handsome in the kitchen. The rosewood filter holder handle will crack in a few years from the expanding metal basket insert, and you may want to keep a spare fuse in the cupboard. My last machine served me well for ten years with those part replacements, but ultimately the gaskets started to leak and you couldn’t make two lattes before the steam ran out. Obviously I keep buying this model despite the shortcomings since you have full control over a great pull.

Very hard to pull a good shot

Amazing Grinder!!

Exactly what I needed. A great quality grinder that grinds so perfectly. It was such an amazing price too. I love buying from majesty coffee.

Superb Machine!

Speed, accuracy and consistency of timed dose is excellent. Convenience of single dose with low retention. Easy maintenance! The shot quality is superb. I am quite happy with my purchase.

Compak E10 Conical Grinder

The staff at Majesty Coffee are wonderfully professional. They worked with me regarding providing a commercial pricing quote. Unfortunately, their website contains old information regarding the Compak E10 grinder. I was looking to purchase a Polished Aluminum model which looked to come with a Single Dosing grinder funnel. Both the color option and the dosing funnel were no longer options with the manufacturer. Knowing that, I may have opted with another distributor who had a different color and options in stock, such as a version with a smaller hopper.
