Description
Eureka Mignon Specialita Espresso Grinder
The Eureka Mignon Specialita walks the line between a focus on grind quality and unprecedented convenience for the home barista. The grinder starts with Eureka's attention to internals, coupling a 55mm flat burrset to a stepless grind system that adjusts from below the motor to make cleaning and disassembly easier. This winning combo comes ensconced in a sound-insulating case of thick metal mated with rubber mounts and gaskets that reduce the sound of crushing beans to a whisper. Finally, a programmable touchscreen makes it easy to set your espresso dose for easy accuracy.
Features and Functionality
Silenced Grind- A sound-insulated case helps keep the Specialita quieter than most.
Touchscreen Controls- Adjust your grind time for single, double and continuous modes with a backlit resistive touchscreen.
55mm Stepless Burrs- With the biggest burrs available on a Mignon; these hardened steel flat burrs make short work of coffee beans.
Bottom Burr Adjust- By adjusting the grind from below the motor mount, the Specialita preserves your grind setting between disassemblies.
New Chute- A wider chute design with Eureka's anti-clumping system makes for fluffier grounds.
Pros
Better Burrset- It sounds like a small upgrade, but the grind quality with the Specialita's 55mm burrs is a nice step up from the Mignon's stock 50mm discs.
Touchscreen- While a monochrome screen sounds a little dated, the high contrast and large digits make it exceptionally usable without looking out of place.
Size- It's tough to find a grinder actually sized for the home kitchen that works as well as the Specialita.
Cons
Touchscreen - The touchscreen is resistive, meaning it has a soft, flexible screen. You'll need to take care to press lightly.

Eureka Mignon Grinder
You are able to vary the grind of coffee to meet your desired level. It does take time through trial and error to determine settings and when setting is changed for a different application you must reset the original grind as there is no recall.

Eureka Mignon Specialita Espresso Grinder
Grind quality is great, very adjustable via stepless burr adjustment and timer. Relatively quiet, unit is heavy and build quality seems high. Black model did not come with the laser cut chrome sides as pictured, just a plain black side.

If you've ever owned a product from the 1970s or older, you know what it means to own something that is solidly built. The Super Jolly V Up is SOLID. It performs, and has my faith that it will continue to perform for the next decade. Its nice to look at, and instills trust that my business is covered when it comes to a solidly built, grinder that won't fail. Plus, with a name like Super Jolly.... how can you not want this grinder!
Once I had the crane lift it into place things went smoothly. Caution: this grinder is very heavy. Other than that - it's pretty much perfect. No clumps, no mess, no hands. Weight is determined by grinding time; single, double, and manual settings. Build quality is next level. Powerful, quiet, fast, and heavy.
I went from a Breville Barista Express to this dual boiler beauty and couldn't be happier with this purchase. Cost a pretty penny, but every espresso made makes me reassured about my purchase. Shipping took a few days longer than normal, but assumed that was due to the open box.
Steams milk incredibly quick, and my lattes taste even better! Hope this is my last espresso machine purchase since I don't think my wallet can take another hit like this.
I've had my Quick Mill Silvano machine for 3 years now. I purchased it after 2 Breville consumer machines crapped out after 2 years... one stopped making steam, the other leaked. And neither made great tasting coffee or substantial crema. So I took the plunge and purchased this machine and I'm so happy I did. What I love about it: the PID display of boiler temp and brew time. The simplicity of the controls. The fact that I can froth at the same time as pulling shots. The quality of the parts and longevity of the machine. The ease of cleaning. Finally, and most importantly, the great taste of the espresso I get every morning from the Silvano.
This is my first espresso machine. It came promptly as ordered, and it looks great. So far I am having some issues with how long it takes to produce the espresso, and I understand that the grind size, amount of grind, and how tightly it is tamped can affect how the machine performs. I have tried various combinations of grind size, amount, etc., and I find the machine takes 5 minutes to produce a shot, and that the espresso comes out in drops, not as a stream. This may be due to my inexperience in using the machine, but until I get feedback from Majesty coffee, I can only rate the machine 3 stars.
