• FILTER: The system has been modified to set the number of gallons/liters of water that can run through your filter.
The user can now set the range of water filtered from 0001 gallons/liter to 5000 gallon/liters. If the number is set to 0000, the filter function is disabled. The system to reset the counters and to decrease the water have not changed.

• LANGUAGES: Spanish and German have been added.

• SCREENSAVER: There are 5 new screensavers! London skyline, Forbidden city, Brandenburg Gate, Vienna, and the LaSpaziale logo. There is also an added function called MIX. When enabled, this function allows the display to rotate between each screensaver thirty seconds at a time.

• THRESHOLD: To set the threshold with the new firmware, press and hold the OK button for 5 seconds (when the machine is in stand by mode)

This is truly a great machine.

Great, but digital functions could use a bit of work.

This machine makes great espresso, but the digital functions are a bit annoying to use. For example, the features that I use often such as group cleaning are deep within the menu so you have to press the button a bunch of times to access it and then a bunch to get back.

That minor annoyance aside, the quality of the espresso is superb and and consistent.

This thing is awesome and arrived SUPER quick!

Quick and easy with a little mess.

As advertised, it tamps consistently. Each tamping process is quicker and easier than manual tamping. I like the fact the process requires only one hand, as opposed to two in manual.
The only drawback is that the tamper surface gets dirty with the grind very quickly (because it does not 'twist" as in manual). After 3 or 4 tamps we have to clean it with a rug or a brush, leaving the coffee grind around the device.
Overall, we are happy with the purchase, and my overworked wrist with a tendonitis thanks a lot. I know it is an expensive investment, but loss of my hand will cost a lot more.

Well right at one year ago I got my Alex Leva and dearly love it .. But today after right at one year of use it has stopped working... You flick the on switch and nothing , the PID does not light up but the on/off switch lights up sometimes but not always.. Other than the light on the on/off switch the machine seems dead... I do hope this is not a big deal after just a year of use... Up until this point I would give my Alex Leva a five star rating , but now I may have to revise my review... We shall see.
