    New Features

    • Insulated boiler
    • Redesigned internal layout
    • Pressure gauges

Key Features and What They Mean

1.8 Liter Copper Heat Exchange Boiler

The insulated heat exchange boiler has extra oomph to brew espresso and steam milk at the same time for one drink after another. The copper material makes it antimicrobial to boot.

    304 Stainless Steel Case

Resilient and attractive with a mirror shine, the 304 stainless steel housing is ideal for wear-and-tear resistance.

    PID Temperature Controller

Built with a PID thermostat, the Mozzafiato Type V gives you control of the boiler temperature to pull consistently excellent espresso shots.

    E-61 Commercial Group

Boosting the brew temperature stability and adding automatic pre-infusion to extraction, this commercial-grade group ensures that the flavors of the coffee always pop.

    Boiler and Group Pressure Gauges

Guided by these pressure gauges, you’ll be able to monitor the machine with accurate information at your fingertips.

Non-Compression Hot Water and Steam Valves

Drawing hot water for Americanos and steaming milk is easier than ever with the non-compression valves.

No-Burn Hot Water and Steam Wands

Accidentally burning hands and arms on the steam wand is no fun. That’s a thing of the past with the no-burn wands. Since the steam wand is cooler, it won’t harbor burned-on milk that’s difficult to scrape off.

    2.9 Liter Reservoir

The ample 2.9 liter water tank needs few refills, which is good news for busy professionals.

    Vibratory Pump

Helping to deliver high-quality espresso, the vibratory pump is easy to access in the machine, and it’s cheaper to replace than a rotary pump should you ever need to.

    Low Water Sensor

You’ll know exactly when to refill the water tank when the indicator light flashes, saving you from having to remove it to check.

Cup Warmer with Stainless Steel Guard

Not only is the warming tray a handy place to stash coffee cups, it’s also a built-in cup preheater so that hot drinks stay hot. The stainless steel cup guard that stops cups from falling off is removable for effortless cleaning or to give you extra room for machine storage.

    Standard Accessories Included

When you purchase the Rocket Mozzafiato Type V, you’ll get a kit of accessories that includes...

    Rocket Metal Tamper

Perfectly matching the Mozzafiato Type V, the Rocket metal tamper has an elegant style and a nice weight distribution for correct tamping.

    Two 58mm Portafilters

The commercial-style 58mm single and double portafilters offer variety for your drink styles and preferences.

    Stainless Steel Backflush Disk

Deep cleaning is a major part of ensuring longevity and great espresso flavor. You’ll receive a blind portafilter disk to backflush properly at the end of the day.

    Informative DVD

You don’t have to be an expert. You’ll get a free DVD that shows you how to make espresso.

      Common Questions and Answers

Q: What does the E-61 commercial group in the Mozzafiato Type V do?

A: When you boil it down, the E-61 group provides consistency and enhancement of the espresso.

It circulates hot water through the boiler and group head continuously, whether the machine is in use or not. This keeps the water within an appropriate brew temperature range at the group head so that it doesn’t get too cool or hot.

Making the espresso tastier, the E-61 group’s automatic pre-infusion function saturates the coffee in the group head when you start extraction. Because of this, the coffee is more evenly extracted, leading to a more refined flavor profile.

Best of all, the E-61 group does all of this on its own, so you don’t need to do anything special to get the benefits to your espresso performance. That’s the power of good design.

Q: How does the PID controller in the Mozzafiato Type V work?

A: There are PID controllers in many forms of mechanical and industrial equipment. Simply put, the PID, or proportional–integral–derivative controller, is a system that applies an algorithm to regulate the machine in some way.

The Mozzafiato’s PID controller is set up to monitor and regulate internal temperatures, adjusting with total precision. Temperature can be a wild card as hot water moves from one end of the machine to another, so the control you have with the PID is huge.

You’ll gain confidence in your espresso knowing that you can reach the absolute best temperature for extraction and even play with it to experiment with different profiles if you’re feeling inventive.

Q: How do you make espresso on the Mozzafiato Type V?

A: Using the Mozzafiato Type V is pretty exciting if you’re nostalgic about espresso. Since it’s semiautomatic, it’s much easier to operate than the original manual machines, but the lever-action group gives it that old-world aura.

After you’ve tamped your ground coffee and placed the portafilter in the group head, you just flip the lever all the way and wait for the espresso to start pouring. You’ll see it start to drip out of the group head at first as the coffee becomes saturated, then start to flow out.

When you feel that extraction is complete, you’ll push the lever all the way back into the original position and the coffee flow will stop. Now you have your beautiful shot of espresso!
